Glenwood Springs

Well as you can see by previous posts, I am way behind on my blogging. So today is a blog about a few days that we spent in Glenwood Springs, CO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glenwood_Springs,_Colorado
So my mom was still visiting and I convinced Jerm that we should show her more of Colorado. I also really wanted to get away. So the morning after Brady's party, Monday, with the house still a party mess, we headed west to Glenwood Springs. The dogs were, for the first time ever, being dog sat by a neighbor girl. She came by several times a day and took them on walks, which is more than they get with us, and she fed them and played with them. They were alone in the house at night so I was nervous, but they did very well, and we saved a TON of money. So with the girls taken care of were on our way. We planned it so that Brady took a nap while we drove, and we made it all the way to Vail before he really wanted out. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and had a lovely lunch outside.
Brady was excited and ready to stand and run at lunch
He wanted to dive in, he loves the water
After lunch we headed to Glenwood Springs, but we stopped when we were nearly there, to do a hike called Hanging Lake Trail. It is a fairly steep trail, even steeper with Brady on you, and about 1.1 miles, so 2.2 up and down. Jerm and I traded off hiking with Brady, that extra 30 pounds is difficult. The extra work was worth it, the pictures do not do it justice, but if you are ever in the area do the hike and go all the way up to the waterfall, it is some of Gods greatest work.

After our hike we headed to our hotel which Jerm got on priceline for pretty cheap, if you are a flexible traveler it is a good deal. We almost did not have a bed for Brady, we could not request one before hand, they gave them all out. Thankfully they found one, otherwise i knew I would not get much sleep. We headed out to dinner and then back to the hotel so that Brady could get to bed. Our Vacation nightlife was in the hotel, playing on the laptops, trying to be quiet so we did not wake up Brady.
Tuesday morning Jeremy tried out his new golf clubs at a local golf course, and Mom, Brady, and I went to the hot springs pool. A natural hot spring which Indians used and believed had natural powers, is pumped and but into three different pools. The pools were two blocks long. Brady loves playing in the pool!

After we all took a nap back at the hotel, we went on a bike ride though Glenwood Canyon. It was a beautiful 11 mile ride next to the Colorado river. Brady thought it was so nice that he took another little nap. That evening we headed to a favorite of ours Beaujo's Pizza, a yummy Colorado pizza restaurant. Then we headed back to the hotel for another early evening.

Wednesday was our last day, we had to make sure that we dropped of my mom at the Denver airport that afternoon. In the morning we went to a Gondola to the top where there were rides and fun activities. We didn't really ride anything besides the gondola, but Brady got to play in the sandbox which he loves getting dirty, he is a boy afterall.

Overall it was a fun, but busy trip, we are so blessed to live in a state that has so many wonderful vaca spots.
