Random

So here are a few random things.
First of all I don't think that I have ever shared a video of Brady walking, so I thought I would. This is after dinner or some other messy meal so he is a little white trash with no shirt. Also he plays with random things, anything actually besides his toys, so don't be confused by the panko breadcrumbs. He climbs up and down the stairs many time a day, thankfully not falling too often. You can also see how much he loves the dogs. He just wanders around the house looking for something to mess with.

So also a little random note is that I found a great deal. I am one of those people that never pays full price for things. If it is not on sale or if I don't have a coupon, I am not buying it. I have an expensive purse obsession, but even purses go on sale! I have found awesome deals at outlets and department stores when they go on sale. So I hunt the bargains! I have wanted a Dyson Animal vacuum for quite awhile, BUT they are like $450 on sale! I just know that this vacuum would be the answer to all my dog hair problems. But hey for $450 it better vacuum itself! So I have never gotten one. But we went to glance at items at a neighbors garage sale and sitting there was a Dyson animal calling out to me, "take me home". I inquired in the price and the man said $30, I tried to stay calm, that is so cheap so I thought it was broken, but it worked and I got a slightly used Dyson! I got it home, cleaned it out, and it is wonderful.

This past week my dad was visiting and we have pictures to share so I will post those soon. We had a fun week and we are sad that Grandpa and Grandma Karen are gone, but we are also looking forward to a trip to Texas in October.

4th of July

I know that it is almost August, but once again we are camera less, but only for a few more days, so here are a few pictures from the 4th of July. Last year Brady was just a week old, and unfortunately he was back in the hospital due to a fever. We were there for 4 days and he really has not been sick since, but was a hard a scary time. He was relased on the 4th and that evening we were able to watch fireworks from our house but, I hope to never celebrate the fourth that way again. This year was much more fun. We started the day by attended a parade which Brady's cousins were in. We then played at Nana and Gramps' house until it was time for fireworks. Brady loves fireworks, he ohs and awes and it is too cute. Overall it was an awesome day.

Happy 4th!
This is not the same day, but it is funny. Brady's 1st Oreo, Yum!

So we will have a camera back soon and we will add more pics. Also we are excited because Grandpa, my dad, and Grandma Karen come tomorrow. We are looking forward to a fun visit and will keep you updated. Have a great weekend!

Jon and Kate

SO... I have hesitated to write this post for sometime, but I am again camera less for a few days, long story, so here I go.

I loved the show Jon and Kate plus 8. (Obviously, notice my blog name) I would watch every week and make Jerm watch. During football season there was no halftime watching, that would be Jon and Kate time, Jerm would text a friend, who's wife made him do the same, and they loved making fun of the show. I started watching when they did the little 1 hour specials, before it was a show. I had seen every episode, some twice. I have read Kate's books. I really became obsessed when we had fertility issues and we were one month away from going the same route with fertility treatments that got them their 2 and 6. I felt like I knew them, weird I know. So lets say I was a fan.
The show is about two parents, Jon and Kate, and their kids, twins and sextuplets. Now, unless you have been hiding under a rock, or possibly in Siberia like my step-dad, you have heard that they are divorcing. I won't go into all of that, but pick-up any magazine to learn more. What I want to discuss is the ridiculousness of these two selfish people. They, in their show, say that everything they do is for their children. Well hello get help and save your marriage FOR YOUR CHILDREN! Less than a year ago they traveled to Hawaii and renewed their vows in front of the kids. Sadly a couple months later they are getting divorced. Their kids don't know that it was all for TV. They just saw their parents tell each other that they would be together forever no matter what. I felt so jipped, I thought that this was a good christian family that really cared about each other and their family. I also feel responsible, because of their popularity, and the show their marriage died. So I was very disappointed, I loved that show and now I cannot watch it. It makes me so sad and I just want to scream at the TV.
I am not going to lecture too much but if a marriage is in trouble put God first. Nothing is impossible or unhealable for God. Be a serving, compassionate wife and a loving, faithful husband just as the bible commands and nothing can interfere with your marriage.
I cannot speak for husbands because I am a wife, so here are a few favorite bible verses as a wife.
Col 3:18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting to the Lord.
Pro 25.24 Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife
Matthew 19:4-6 Jesus answered, "Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh' So then, they are no longer two but but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate."

I feel that I need to add that divorce for some families makes the family happier and healthier. I definately know that from personal experience with family members and friends. I just feel that our society makes it so easy and ok for families to be split and marriages to be dissolved. Only in my opinion, for what that is worth, do I think that maybe Jon and Kate could have listened to that advice.

Glenwood Springs

Well as you can see by previous posts, I am way behind on my blogging. So today is a blog about a few days that we spent in Glenwood Springs, CO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glenwood_Springs,_Colorado
So my mom was still visiting and I convinced Jerm that we should show her more of Colorado. I also really wanted to get away. So the morning after Brady's party, Monday, with the house still a party mess, we headed west to Glenwood Springs. The dogs were, for the first time ever, being dog sat by a neighbor girl. She came by several times a day and took them on walks, which is more than they get with us, and she fed them and played with them. They were alone in the house at night so I was nervous, but they did very well, and we saved a TON of money. So with the girls taken care of were on our way. We planned it so that Brady took a nap while we drove, and we made it all the way to Vail before he really wanted out. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and had a lovely lunch outside.
Brady was excited and ready to stand and run at lunch
He wanted to dive in, he loves the water
After lunch we headed to Glenwood Springs, but we stopped when we were nearly there, to do a hike called Hanging Lake Trail. It is a fairly steep trail, even steeper with Brady on you, and about 1.1 miles, so 2.2 up and down. Jerm and I traded off hiking with Brady, that extra 30 pounds is difficult. The extra work was worth it, the pictures do not do it justice, but if you are ever in the area do the hike and go all the way up to the waterfall, it is some of Gods greatest work.
Hanging Lake, with the smaller waterfallMom, Brady, and IThe larger waterfall that we almost missed because it is kind of hiddenMom and I under the waterfall
After our hike we headed to our hotel which Jerm got on priceline for pretty cheap, if you are a flexible traveler it is a good deal. We almost did not have a bed for Brady, we could not request one before hand, they gave them all out. Thankfully they found one, otherwise i knew I would not get much sleep. We headed out to dinner and then back to the hotel so that Brady could get to bed. Our Vacation nightlife was in the hotel, playing on the laptops, trying to be quiet so we did not wake up Brady.
Tuesday morning Jeremy tried out his new golf clubs at a local golf course, and Mom, Brady, and I went to the hot springs pool. A natural hot spring which Indians used and believed had natural powers, is pumped and but into three different pools. The pools were two blocks long. Brady loves playing in the pool!

After we all took a nap back at the hotel, we went on a bike ride though Glenwood Canyon. It was a beautiful 11 mile ride next to the Colorado river. Brady thought it was so nice that he took another little nap. That evening we headed to a favorite of ours Beaujo's Pizza, a yummy Colorado pizza restaurant. Then we headed back to the hotel for another early evening.

Wednesday was our last day, we had to make sure that we dropped of my mom at the Denver airport that afternoon. In the morning we went to a Gondola to the top where there were rides and fun activities. We didn't really ride anything besides the gondola, but Brady got to play in the sandbox which he loves getting dirty, he is a boy afterall.
On the Gondola
Overall it was a fun, but busy trip, we are so blessed to live in a state that has so many wonderful vaca spots.

1st Hair Cut

A week or so before Brady's 1st birthday he had his 1st hair cut. It was getting really long, and we are not into the long, boy hair look. I set up the appointment the day before and I requested that he get the cute car chair, but they did not take any requests. I was really nervous after that. I was sure they were going to be very rude and it was going to be a bad crazy mom moment for me. Of course, everything always turns out great! Brady did awesome, even the girl cutting his hair said so, and he looks cuter than ever. Playing with the Legos before his haircut
