Marvelous Monday

For the Lord your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you. Deuteronomy 15:6

This was spoken of Israel, but it so applies to our nation today. I pray that our country and our leaders will turn back to God, and we will continue to be blessed. If we follow God then we will no longer have the worries we have now. Imagine what our country could be if it once again served God, and not ourselves.

Marvelous Monday

A day late...

But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57 (NLT)

Our Yearly Hike

Every fall since Brady was born we have gone on a hike at Mueller State Park to see the changing of the colors of the Aspen trees. It is so beautiful, and one of my favorite times of year.

This is the blog post from last year.

We had a blast, and especially enjoyed having Mom with us this year. It was a gorgeous day. Other than poor planning by me, and not bringing enough diapers, it would have been perfect. We had to cut our hike short and head to the nearest convenience store, but we still had a nice time.

 We love Colorado!

Shutterfly Cards

I have read on several blogs about how shutterfly is giving away 50 free Christmas cards to bloggers if you write a blog post about it. Ummm yeah, I will take free Christmas cards!

I love shutterfly! I have ordered quite a few photo books and calendars from shutterfly and I love them. They provide a great way to preserve memories, and they turn out so nice. All of the loved ones that I have given photobooks or calendars to have loved the sentimental gift. They have great service and with promo codes you can get some awesome deals.

I already have my cards all picked out, but there are so many beautiful options. Here is a sneak of our possible card this year. There is a possibility I may always change my mind. It is hard there are too many choices.
And here are some of the others I really love!
How neat would these be with a wonderful message inside?
If you are interested in getting in on this deal, make sure you blog all about it, and get your free cards!

Apple Picking

While my mom was here, (in September, that how far behind I am on blogging) we went to an apple orchid. It was a gorgeous day and we had a blast. The first place we went to was nice, it had raspberries and pumpkins, but horrible apple trees. They were all picked, or bug eaten. We tried another orchard down the road, and it was beautiful. Brady loved picking apples, and I think it renewed his love for apples.

On the hay ride out to the fields
 Picking some raspberries with Grandma
 A great little berry picker
One for my bucket, and 5 for me.
I had to ask them to charge extra because he could not stop eating them before they got weighed. Raspberries are by far his favorite fruit.
 Still eating
Off to get a cart for our pumpkins
We had a nice lunch, with lots of berries
Pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. We got two lovely pumpkins
At the apple orchard, where we got delicious apples
Pulling the apple off the trees, he is so strong
Mom made an amazing pie with the apples
I have never met a two year old who will eat an apple, skin and all. He was eating 3 a day for awhile. We love them!

Marvelous Mondays

Ahhh! Mondays are marvelous again. (Aside from the continuing morning sickness, but that happens any day of the week.)

Give thanks to the Lord for he is good; His love endures forever. Psalm 107:1

This is the season of year when people are most thankful, but I think it should be continuous. Sometimes I want to complain and moan about something, but then I count my blessings, and it humbles me and I want to cry with tears of joy. No matter what your situation, there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for. God loves you, and that love will endure forever, that is a huge thing to be thankful for. I hope that everyone knows of His love, and receives His measureless blessings in this season, and all throughout the year.

Broken, sick, and out of work

Wah, wah, wah.

Our week started off nicely. Monday morning was good, I was nauseous as normal, but otherwise good. I dropped Brady off to Nana's and went to work.

Nana and Brady decided they were going to go to a gymnastics place to play, which they have been to before, and had fun. Brady had a blast of course, and even did impressive back flips on a bungee trampoline thingy. As they were leaving Nana and Brady tripped and fell. Brady landed with all of his weight on his shoulder.  He cried more than normal, for when he hurts himself. And he kept holding his shoulder.

Of course Nana tried to call me right away, but my phone was on vibrate, and I was having a good time visiting at lunch with coworkers, so I did not notice. In the meantime, Nana was able to get ahold of Jerm and he was able to come and see Brady. It is so nice that he has a flexible job! Once I saw the million missed calls, my heart sank and I knew that something was wrong. I left work and went to be with Brady.

The doctor that Jeremy was in surgery with when he had to leave, really helped us out. He and Jeremy figured out that Brady had broken his collar bone. With a two year old, they do nothing when that happens, they just let it heal on its own. Our options were to go to the ER that day, pay a ton of money, get xrays, and told what we already knew. Or, we could give Brady pain meds, and wait until the next day for a free xray. We decided to wait.

That night I started to get sick, and I am a horrible sick person. Especially when I cannot drug myself, like while pregnant. Brady slept in bed with me, and was in a lot of pain. It was a hard night, but we got creative on how to get Brady his meds and we made it through.

My job was scheduled to end on Friday, it has since been extended,  but I decided to end early. It was a good decision since I am now sick, my Wednesday babysitter's daughter is sick, tomorrow is a work holiday anyway, and most importantly Brady needs me.

Tuesday, I was miserable. We made it to the doctor, and Brady had xrays. Sure enough, his collar bone is broken. He should heal in a few weeks, and be completely healed in a month. I am feeling better, and we are on the mend. I am looking forward to healthy weeks ahead!

Good news is, back to life as normal and back to blogging. Oh, and baby update, baby seems to be doing very well. We heard the heartbeat last week and it was nice and strong in the 170 beats per minute. We are almost done with the first trimester, which I openly welcome! Only 27 1/2 weeks left until we get to meet our sweet angel!

Almost done!

I am almost done working! It has been a wonderful and fascinating experience, but I will be happy to get back to normal. We are starting to get used to it. But I do not think I could ever get used to Brady telling me he does not want me to go to work.

As far as the election has gone, it is so interesting. I never realized how much goes into one election. Money, time, people, ect. I can't speak for other states, or county's, but in our county, so much is put into keeping each vote secure, and also so that every vote is counted. There are so many full time employees who work only on elections all year long. There are also so many checks and double checks to protect each ballot, and make sure everyone is accounted for. It is an awesome process that I will not take advantage of in the future.

I have so much to blog about! I am months behind. I hope to get back to blogging really soon, hope all is well with all of you!
