Brady loves to help with chores, he picks up toys, sweeps the kitchen, and even tries to vacuum. Today Brady decided to help with dinner, he is just sweet like that.
Apparently he thought our dinner needed a little flour, thanks Brady. Next time hopefully he sticks to sweeping.

Brady Dance
Here is a quick video of Brady doing a little jig. He gets so excited sometimes and he just does a little dance it is really funny. In this video we are bouncing a ball and he gets very excited.
Also on a side note, we are really having fall here in Colorado. It is unseasonably cool. It is supposed to snow this evening! That is just crazy to me. We have lived here 6 years now and we this is the first time I can remember it snowing before Halloween. It is a nice change, but I was not ready for this, I was still enjoying summer. We hope to go to see the changing of the aspen trees this weekend, it is beautiful but we will see if we are able to make it. Hope everyone has a great week.

Staycation Saturday - Balloon Festival
Balloon Festival, a week late. Sorry, we were out of town last weekend enjoying our wonderful state and I did not have a chance to update the blog.
I give the Balloon Festival **** four stars for family fun and it is FREE, my favorite price!
Each Labor day weekend the Colorado Balloon Classic comes to town. For three days hot air balloons lift off, or actually I think they call it launch, in the early morning. We don't wake up early to see this, but in the past you could see some balloons on the horizon from our house. Also at night the balloons glow, by lighting the torches and filling the balloons but without lifting off of the ground. It is really beautiful. There are also lots of vendors and yummy food.
The only difficult thing is that the event is extremely weather sensitive. This year only 1 out of 3 mornings did the balloons launch, and only one night did they do the balloon glow. We have been aware of the weather impacting our plans in the past so I made sure to pick the best night according to the weather man.
Unfortunately the weather man was wrong. We arrived to the festival after a storm, and noticed no balloons were setting up. I asked a volunteer and she said "they were canceled for the evening due to the weather, but they were beautiful last night." Gee thanks lady! So after a little pouting, we watched a sham-wow presentation, got a funnel cake, and decided to go.
It was sad, but it is still a great time when it is nice out. Unfortunately my pictures from last year are on the other computer, which is sick with a virus at the moment, but I do have one picture of Jerms parents. Oh well maybe next year.

Brady update
So I have not bragged about Brady recently. He is such a big boy now.
He says many words, but not that often. He can still easily get what he wants by screaming.
Words he says:
Mama, Dada, snack, night night, bath, bubble, book, Elmo, more, milk, Coco, Belle, dog, duck, and I am sure there are more, but I can't remember at the moment.
He is a walking and running pro by now, with only a few spills per day. He loves to chase the dogs everywhere, and they are starting to get tired of it. He can easily go up and down the stairs. We only have one gate so he can not go up or down the big stair case, but he goes up and down the two stairs all the time, with ease. He is constantly moving. The only time he is not moving is while sleeping, or eating. He LOVES being outside, and is never happy when we come inside, a long winter inside should be fun!
And he eats a ton! Yesterday, I am pretty sure he ate more than me. How is that possible? I am very rarely allowed to feed him anything, and he likes to remove food from his spoon or fork, then he can eat it. Anything he does not want goes straight to the dogs, they love it. Coco tonight got an ear of corn. Hopefully it comes out alright?!?
Not only is Brady a growing, very active little boy, but he is smart too. He understands everything, and will mostly do what we ask of him. He is already very stubborn, and quite often ignores us, especially when we are saying no. Yesterday, he all the sudden could point to his eyes, nose, and mouth. Here is a video of him pointing to his eyes, but it is at the beginning. I don't know how to edit videos otherwise I would delete the rest.
So also he is a great athlete, Daddy is so proud! He can throw and kick balls with ease, and the other day he was trying to copy his cousin playing tee ball. Here is a video of him playing soccer.
How did this happen so fast? He was just my little baby who could not even hold his head up yesterday wasn't he? I really am loving this stage, he is a sponge and it is so neat to see him learn. I am not sure about you but he is the coolest, smartest, 14 month old I know, not biased of course!

Bags
So I love bags, handbags, and purses. Before Brady was born, I received an awesome present, a beautiful coach diaper bag. I love it and it was, and will be again the best diaper bag ever!
Now that Brady is older and does not need as many "things", I decided to switch to a purse, and Brady was going to have a little backpack to carry. I made his little friend an embroidered backpack for his birthday and I liked it so much that I decided to make Brady one. It was very cute, and we both loved it. We would bring it to church and to the gym with us, but for the most part we would not bring it everywhere with us. Mostly because even though it is for Brady he does not yet carry it.
So the one thing I underestimated was the cheapness of the actual backpack, sorry Jojo and Becky, and it broke. So once again we were back to the diaper bag.
And finally I found Brady a new cute backpack, it would be cuter with his name on it, but I have not done that yet.
I even found a new bag for myself.
So after taking time off from cute purses i am back to looking, and wishing for new ones. This is my lastest obsession, it's from lucky but probably wont be happening anytime soon.

Staycation Saturday - The Park
Parks are one of the best staycation places because they are free, well most parks. We love our local parks because they are all nice and well kept. We also love the amenities of most state parks, especially for hiking in Colorado. We give the park **** 4/4 stars for family fun, and it is free!
We have a local park in our neighborhood that we can walk to, so we go there very often. We can take the dogs, play on the play equipment, swing, play basketball, play in the sand, just enjoy the outdoors, or even go to the skate park. If you haven't been to a local park, recently you are missing out. Here are a few pictures from one of our many trips to our park.
This weekend we are going to the balloon festival, one of our favorite staycation events each year, stayed tuned for pics next week.
